Safeguarding at Skinat Tuition
Your child's safety matters as much as their learning. Skinat Tuition provides calm, structured online lessons with qualified UK teachers, clear parent communication and safeguarding procedures built into the way lessons are planned, delivered and reviewed.
We want parents to feel confident that online tuition is not only useful, but safe, professional and properly managed.
Safeguarding is built into every lesson
Skinat Tuition is designed to give children a calm and safe online learning experience. Lessons are planned around clear academic goals, delivered by suitable teachers, and supported by communication with parents so families understand what has been covered and what comes next.
We keep safeguarding simple for parents: children learn in a structured online setting, teachers follow clear expectations, and parents know who to contact if they have a question or concern.
How we help keep online tuition safe
Simple, consistent practices that apply to every lesson, every teacher and every family.
Agreed online platform
Lessons take place through an agreed online platform rather than informal or private messaging routes.
Professional boundaries
Teachers are expected to maintain professional boundaries at all times.
Clear parent information
Parents receive clear information about lessons, progress and communication routes.
Calm, age-appropriate support
Children are supported in a calm, respectful and age-appropriate way.
Concerns escalated properly
Any safeguarding concern is treated seriously and escalated through Skinat's safeguarding process.
Academic-focused learning
Learning support is kept focused on academic teaching, confidence and progress.
Qualified UK teachers and safer recruitment
Skinat Tuition uses qualified UK teachers because parents need more than subject knowledge. They need adults who understand children, learning, classroom standards, professional conduct and the importance of safeguarding.
Before teaching with Skinat, teachers are expected to go through appropriate checks and onboarding. This includes identity checks, qualification checks, DBS checks where required, and agreement to Skinat's safeguarding and professional conduct expectations.
Clear parent communication
Parents should never feel shut out of their child's tuition. Skinat keeps parents informed through lesson updates, progress summaries and direct communication routes, so families can understand how their child is learning and where support is being focused.
For younger learners, SEND-friendly tuition or home education support, parent communication is especially important. We make sure expectations are clear before lessons begin and that parents know how to raise any concern.
Online lesson boundaries
Online tuition works best when boundaries are clear. Skinat lessons should be used for learning, questions, practice and confidence-building. They are not used as private social contact between a teacher and a child.
Teachers communicate through agreed Skinat routes. Any change to lesson arrangements, concerns about attendance, or issues affecting learning are handled transparently and with parent awareness.
Supporting SEND-friendly and home education families
Some learners need extra patience, repetition, structure or reassurance. Skinat's SEND-friendly and home education support remains academic tuition, but it can be adapted to help children feel calmer and more confident when online tuition is suitable.
Parents remain central to any wider SEND, school, local authority or home education arrangements. Skinat can provide progress updates and learning summaries, but it does not replace school safeguarding responsibilities, clinical advice, EHCP provision, therapy, local authority processes or parental responsibility for home education.
